Parks
There are three very nice parks on Joe Pool Lake. They all have great picnic areas and swim areas. More details about each park can be found by clicking on the park name below.
This 1,800-acre park is operated by the State of Texas. There are fishing piers, campgrounds, swim beaches, and more located within this park. Cedar Hill State park is also home to the DOBRA trail, the premier mountain biking trail in North Texas.
Joe Pool Marina is located within Cedar Hill State Park.
Loyd Park is a great 791-acre park that is operated by the City of Grand Prairie. This park has campsites, cabin rentals, plenty of picnic areas, and lots of trees for shade. This park is also the home of Walnut Creek Paddling Trail that is one of the best kayaking trails in the area.
Lynn Creek Park is operated by the City of Grand Prairie and is open from March through October. This is a great day use park with the best beach area on Joe Pool Lake.
Lynn Creek Park is also home to the Oasis Restaurant and Lynn Creek Marina.
All of these parks are wonderful. You can spend the day or weekend at any of them.
